Cut Copy – Where I’m Going
15. July 2010

That blue turquoise-y, greenish pop album that came out  a couple years back was one of my favorite developments of any recent dance pop group. ‘In Ghost Colors’ created a wave of  excellent remixes that fed off the album’s many instantly agreeable singles. ‘Where I’m Going’ is the first single released from new Cut Copy material. It’s more alt rock than I’d hoped for. There’s always the fear that fun dance bands will look into themselves and feel like they need to ‘grow up’ and stop making fun pop and start making more mature rock or something.

Besides the goofy YA!’s and WOO!’s ‘Where I’m Going’ is a solid single; leaning more towards the beach boys than their traditional aussie 2k7 sound. I’m loving this but I’m also still crossing my fingers for another ‘Lights & Music’.
